Don Quixote and Rosinante are fictional characters in the novel Don Quixote written by Miguel de Cervantes. Don Quixote is an elderly gentleman who becomes obsessed with romantic tales of chivalry and decides to revive the tradition of knight-errantry. Rosinante is the horse that Don Quixote rides on his adventures.
Rosinante is described as a thin and bony horse with various injuries and marks from its past battles. Despite its poor condition, Don Quixote loves Rosinante and believes it to be a noble and brave steed. Don Quixote even insisted on renaming the horse from its original name, Rozinante, which means "work horse," to Rosinante, which means "don't stop loving."
Throughout the novel, Don Quixote and Rosinante encounter various challenges and adventures, most of which are comical and often result in Don Quixote getting injured or humiliated. Despite their many mishaps, Don Quixote and Rosinante remain an iconic duo in literary history.
